Appraising the Three FNS Solutions
A system of appraisal that shows the client clearly how the recommended solution was derived and how each solution compares against the others should be provided. A transparent appraisal tool need not be complicated, and can be presented like a heat map, with lighter colours signifying aspects of the solutions that represent lower risk.
This table shows how the Solutions A to C compare vis-à-vis 19 conventional criteria of appraisal.
In this appraisal, “benefits” denotes any of the advantages included in the superordinating PMI definition (2018). Also, the 19 criteria of appraisal shown in this table are categorizable as “Technical”, “Financial”, or “Business” (see Cadle et al., 2014).
These tables reveal that Solution A is the most positive and Solution C the most negative.
Assigning values to the evaluations given per criterion and totalling these (following) articulates the appraisal in quantitative terms.
