- Quantity: number of units per item, total weight.
- Quality: description will be specific to the product shipped.
- Accurate and complete description of all items of cargo and declaration of country of origin.
- Price and currency paid in. “Value” might also have to be declared, which can be problematic.
- Method of payment for gods shipped (letter of credit, cash-in-advance etc.)
- Details of currency variation.
- Timetable/schedule of all relevant arrivals and departures.
- Shipping and shipper’s details (vessel details and relevant onshore contacts)
- Transportation: modality, routs, and transshipments.
- Compliance with regulations related to packing (cartons, crates etc.), weight, security, dimensions.
- Compliance with any relevant statutory constraints.
- All necessary labels are attached in the appropriate places.
- All labels requiring manual completion are completed and clearly legible.
